Congress of Black Women

Scholarship Program

The Congress of Black Women in Canada offers scholarships to encourage and support black students who want to begin or continue their education.

Applicants must:

  • be enrolled full time at a university or entering a program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • provide a copy of the most recent transcript of academic achievement.
  • write a short biography, including all involvement in the black and wider community.
  • provide a typed one-page essay stating why they need to receive this scholarship and how these funds will help to further their educational goals.
  • complete an application form, including the names of two references.

Deadline for Scholarship Application: August 31st, 2010

Please note that all cheques will be made payable to the educational institution which you plan to attend or are currently attending.

Presentation of the scholarships will be done at the Cultural Unity Dinner in October 2010.
